How to Switch From Antiperspirant to Natural Deodorant
Switching from antiperspirant to natural deodorant is less about “detoxing” and more about changing what you expect the product to do.
Understand the difference
Antiperspirants reduce sweating. Deodorants focus on odor. When you make the switch, normal perspiration may become more noticeable.
Give yourself a clean start
Wash the underarms, dry them thoroughly and begin with a consistent application routine. Avoid changing several skincare and laundry products at the same time.
Expect a learning period
Heat, exercise, stress and clothing can all affect odor. Learn your own pattern instead of judging the product after one unusually hot day.
Do not chase dryness
A damp underarm is not automatically a failed deodorant. The meaningful measure is whether odor remains controlled and the product is comfortable.
If excessive sweating is disrupting daily life, consider discussing it with a dermatologist rather than expecting a deodorant to treat it.
