How to Apply Natural Deodorant for the Best Results
A natural deodorant performs best when the application is consistent. The goal is not to cover the underarm in product; it is to create an even layer on clean, dry skin.
Clean first
Wash the underarms normally and remove old product residue. A harsh scrub is unnecessary and may make freshly shaved or sensitive skin more reactive.
Dry completely
Pat the area dry and wait a moment before applying. A dry surface helps a stick glide evenly and reduces the temptation to overapply.
Apply a thin layer
Use several light passes rather than one heavy coat. Cover the area where odor normally develops. More product does not automatically equal better odor control.
After shaving
Freshly shaved skin can be more sensitive. If your underarms are easily irritated, allow the skin to settle before applying a product that contains fragrance or other potentially irritating components.
Exercise and hot weather
Apply before activity, not after you are already sweating. In Texas heat, keep the stick out of a hot car and direct sun. Breathable clothing can also improve comfort.
Build a repeatable routine
The most useful test is consistency. Use the same amount, under similar conditions, for several days before deciding whether a deodorant works for you. That turns guesswork into useful information.
